Cabinet Materials
LED cabinets are manufactured from three primary materials: aluminium die-cast (most common for fixed indoor installations), magnesium-alloy (premium rental and touring applications), and steel (standard outdoor and large-format installations). Aluminium die-cast delivers excellent thermal conductivity, precise dimensional accuracy for seamless tiling, and a weight of typically 6–10 kg per cabinet. Magnesium-alloy is 30% lighter than aluminium, making it the preferred material for rental walls that are assembled and disassembled frequently.

Front vs Rear Serviceability
Cabinet serviceability determines how maintenance is performed. Front-serviceable cabinets allow engineers to access power supplies, receiving cards, and LED modules from the front face of the display — critical for flush-wall installations where no rear access is possible. Rear-serviceable cabinets are less expensive but require physical access behind the display for any maintenance. All Yotta Pixel indoor installations are specified with front-serviceable cabinets as standard.
Specify front-serviceable cabinets for any installation where rear wall access is limited or would require moving furniture, tearing into walls, or scaffolding for maintenance.
Rental Cabinet Fast-Lock Systems
Rental LED walls use quick-lock (or fast-lock) mechanical systems that allow cabinets to be assembled without tools — typically in under 90 seconds per cabinet. Magnetic alignment pins ensure precise pixel alignment between adjacent cabinets. Curvature is achieved through adjustable hinge connections between cabinets, allowing concave and convex configurations of typically ±10°–±15° per cabinet. This enables curved video walls, cylindrical displays, and complex stage geometries.

What size are standard LED cabinets?
The two most common sizes are 500 × 500 mm and 500 × 1,000 mm. Some manufacturers use 480 × 480 mm or 640 × 480 mm. Yotta Pixel primarily uses 500 × 500 mm modules for maximum flexibility.
Can LED cabinets be curved?
Rental cabinets support ±10°–15° curvature per cabinet. Fixed indoor cabinets can be ordered in pre-curved configurations (concave or convex). Flexible LED displays support full curvature for cylindrical and spherical installations.
