LED Brightness Guide

Brightness in the LED industry is measured in 'nits' (candelas per square meter). Understanding nits is crucial because installing a screen that is too dim will look washed out, while a screen that is too bright indoors will cause physical eye strain.

For standard indoor environments (like a conference room), 600 to 800 nits is perfect. For high-ambient light indoors (like a glass atrium), you need 1,500 to 2,500 nits.

**Yotta Pixel Recommendation:** For outdoor displays facing direct sunlight, 5,500 nits is the absolute minimum requirement. However, we highly recommend integrating ambient light sensors so the screen automatically dims at night to comply with municipal light pollution laws.

Remember that running an LED screen at 100% brightness continuously will degrade the diodes faster and consume maximum power. A well-designed system runs at 60-80% capacity during peak hours.
