Controller Selection Guide

How to choose between Novastar, Colorlight, and Huidu controllers for your specific LED project.
The controller (or sending card) is the brain of your LED display. It takes the video signal from your PC or media player and distributes it perfectly to the thousands of receiver cards inside the LED cabinets.
Novastar is the undisputed industry leader. It offers the most stable ecosystem, the widest compatibility, and features like SmartLCT for complex mapping. If you want a plug-and-play experience, Novastar is the default choice.
**Yotta Pixel Recommendation:** For 95% of commercial installations, we exclusively recommend Novastar controllers. However, for highly specialized virtual production or 3D mapping, Colorlight offers unique advanced features.
When sizing a controller, calculate your total pixel count. A standard 1080p screen requires roughly 2 million pixels of processing power. Always select a controller with at least 20% overhead for future expansion or redundant routing.
